What we collect, why, and who sees it. Short version: only what we need, never sold.

Updated **October 29, 2026**

**Draft, to be reviewed before launch.**

01 Collect

## What we collect

- Quote requests: the job, ZIP code, timing, your name and contact details
- Corrections and messages: what you write and your email
- Basic, cookie-free visit statistics

## Who sees it

A quote request goes only to the businesses you tick. Nobody else receives your details. We never sell personal data.

03 Keep

## How long we keep it

Quote requests for 12 months, messages for 24 months, then deleted. Ask us to delete your data sooner through the [contact page](https://theshortlistlocal.com/contact/).

Shortlist is an independent guide. Businesses can pay for an enhanced profile or for quote requests; no one can pay for a place on a shortlist or for its order. [How we make money](https://theshortlistlocal.com/how-we-make-money/).
