Updated **October 29, 2026** Claim your free profile [How selection works](https://theshortlistlocal.com/how-selection-works/) 01 The rule ## Your position is never for sale Paying us changes how your profile looks*.* It never changes whether you are selected, or where. Selection follows the [published method](https://theshortlistlocal.com/how-selection-works/). That is what makes a shortlist worth reading, and a place on one worth having. 02 Plans ## What you can choose ### Free profile **$0** - Claim and verify your listing - Fix your phone, hours and service area - Send corrections ### Enhanced profile **Yearly** - More project photos - Services, prices and warranty in detail - Profile views and calls report ### Quote requests **Per lead** - Only for the job types you choose - See the request before you accept it - No monthly minimum ### Owner tools **Monthly** - Review requests - Missed-call text-back - Lead follow-up Prices for paid plans are confirmed before launch. 03 Leads ## How quote requests work Homeowners choose which businesses receive their request, and they see the names before they send it. You see the job, area and timing first, and only pay if you accept. Shortlisted businesses can turn quote requests off at any time. It does not affect their place. 04 Not on a list? ## Not on a shortlist yet? - Check the basics: an operating business, a working phone number, enough real reviews and a solid rating - Make sure your public listings show the same name, address and phone - Lists are refreshed regularly; claimed profiles are looked at in the next update - Think we missed something? [Send a correction](https://theshortlistlocal.com/corrections/) 05 Claim ## Claim your free profile It takes about five minutes. We confirm ownership by calling the business phone number on record. Free, no card needed. We never sell your details. [Privacy](https://theshortlistlocal.com/privacy/). 06 FAQ ## Questions owners ask ### Can I pay to get on a shortlist? No. Selection is never for sale. Neither is the order. ### Will an enhanced profile move me up? No. It changes how your profile looks and whether you receive quote requests. Not your place. ### Why was my business not selected? Usually one of three things: too few recent reviews, an unconfirmed license, or no clear “best for”. Fix the record and you are reconsidered at the next check. ### How do I fix a wrong fact? Claim your profile and edit it, or send a correction. We check every change against a second source. ## Homeowners - [All shortlists](https://theshortlistlocal.com/) - [Ask for quotes](https://theshortlistlocal.com/quote/) ## Shortlist - [How selection works](https://theshortlistlocal.com/how-selection-works/) - [Corrections](https://theshortlistlocal.com/corrections/) - [How we make money](https://theshortlistlocal.com/how-we-make-money/) - [About](https://theshortlistlocal.com/about/) - [Contact](https://theshortlistlocal.com/contact/) ## For businesses - [Claim your free profile](https://theshortlistlocal.com/claim/) - [Fix a fact](https://theshortlistlocal.com/corrections/) Shortlist is an independent guide.
